everybody is welcome to join in at any stage, and even if the sessions are not
at a convenient time for your family, please let us know as you can still be
involved in the Club.
A 2013 membership form is enclosed. If you would like to join the Club
this season, please complete your form and return it to one of the Club’s
Junior Coaches/Managers at the sessions in the Park, along with your membership
fee. This fee is payable by May 5th
and will cover all outdoor supervised coaching and practice
sessions for 2013. The membership subscription for the under-11, under-13,and
under-15 age groups will be £12.00 including a free practice ball
to keep for use during Club sessions. For the under-9s and below the

Cricket Association league matches from April also, and full SCC fixture cards
will be available shortly (in the meantime, full fixture lists are on the club

Clubmark
Accreditation
Stalbridge
CC is an ECB Clubmark Accredited cricket club, meaning that SCC has been judged
by the ECB to operate its junior section according to important core standards.
This includes providing a good quality cricket programme for young people in line with ‘Safe Hands’,
the ECB’s Welfare of Young People in Cricket Policy. It also means that the
Club has adopted written policies on issues such as child protection, equity,
accidents & incidents, and codes of conduct for players, coaches,
volunteers, club officials and parents – some of which we are required to
distribute with membership details! This accreditation is important for the
Club and its members – it is about doing what we do in the correct way, but it
also enables the Club increased access to funding opportunities from the ECB.
Club Kit
Stalbridge Cricket Club playing shirts, caps, leisure and training wear are
available to junior members, and are similar to those worn by the senior teams.
This is available in junior sizes and can be bought online at the Club’s
website www.stalbridgecc.co.uk
‘Chance to Shine’ at Stalbridge Primary School
Following the Club’s involvement last year at
Stalbridge Primary School, in 2013 we will again be providing a coaching
programme in the school, to be delivered by the Club’s coaches. This forms part
of the North Dorset Cricket Association’s ECB ‘Chance to Shine’ scheme, which
will see similar coaching taking place in other primary schools in the
district. The intention will be that any children who wish to follow on from
this introduction to cricket will find it an easy next step to become involved
with Stalbridge CC sessions on Sunday mornings.

Don’t
forget you can keep up to date via the website, at www.stalbridgecc.co.uk
We have recently

allowing for extra functions such as event notification and team selection. To
get the best out of the site it is helpful if members are registered, so please
register by following the on-screen instructions (click on ‘register’ in the
left-hand menu bar). To cut down on admin workload, we aim to use the site as
much as possible to keep people informed of Club activities, so get registered

You
can also follow the Club on Twitter and on Facebook.
SCC
Lottery Bonus Ball
This
is a vital source of fundraising for the Club. For those who may not know, you
can play by paying £1 per week for a number between 1 & 49. Each week, the
person holding the number matching that which is drawn out as the Bonus Ball in
the National Lottery wins £25.00, with the rest of the money raised going to
the Club. It’s a good way to support the Club, with the chance of also winning
a few quid back!
There
are currently a few spare numbers, so if you are able to buy a number or know
somebody who is, contact Colin at colin@stalbridgecc.co.uk. (The
minimum period for taking part is 6 months @ £26)

The Club is now
registered with Easyfundraising.org.uk, so that members and supporters can
raise money for the Club simply by linking through our website to popular
online retailers, such as Amazon, ebay, Argos and
M&S.
Over 3000
retailers will donate up to 15% of the cost of your shopping to the Club and it
won't cost you a penny more to shop via easyfundraising.org.uk than by logging
on direct to the retailer site.
Simply by making this one
small change to your shopping habits, you could make a big difference to
Stalbridge Cricket Club! See the website for more details or if you have any
questions or feedback please contact John Arter (arter_jr@yahoo.co.uk)
or Phil Calcott (phil.c@tinyworld.co.uk).
It only remains for us to wish
everybody an enjoyable spring and summer – hopefully with lots of warm sunny
weather! We look forward to your involvement with the Club in 2013.
