Match report In a good all-round team performance, the 2nd XI started by restricting Ferndown Wayfarers to a fairly meagre total of 147 for 9 off 45 overs. The wind made bowling tricky but the pitch was such that tidy bowling was always likely to be tough to attack. So it proved, with all our bowlers exerting good control of line and length, especially James Lewis, Rhys Horsman and Freddie Chant who took 4, 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Fred in particular pressured the Ferndown run-rate, going for only 19 runs in his 12 overs.
In reply, the loss of two early wickets failed to hamper the run chase, with Ian Moore making 40 and James Lewis capping off a fine individual day with a classy innings of 70 not out, a knock that meant the team were always in control and led to a comfortable victory.
