Match report A fine victory for the 3rd XI on a beautiful sunny day at Colehill. We batted first and were immediately in trouble at 3 for 2. However, Colin Moore (81) and Graham Cundy (31) got things going with a partnership of 92 before Matt Chant (34), Ian Moore (69no) & Tom Judd (19) took the total up to an imposing 278-7. That said, it's always hard to judge a good total at Colehill's small ground - many of us have seen totals of 300+ chased down there in the past. Our bowlers needed to bowl well, and though the hosts got a decent start they never really got fully on top of the required rate. All the young lads (and Matt!!) bowled very well, with far fewer extras than the opposition. When young Henry Chant (2-21 in 7) bowled their most dangerous batsman with a peach of a Yorker the game was effectively won. Jordan Nettley (1-49) bowled very consistently, as did leg-spinner Joe Atkins, while Tom Judd and Matt Chant also took 2 and 3 wickets respectively. With Wimborne & Colehill teetering on the brink at 9 wickets down the skipper decided it was time to draw the game to a swift close, turning to Richie 'The Terminator' Brown. Rich only required 1 ball to snaffle their no11 and victory was sealed!! A very enjoyable game with good contributions throughout the side.
