Match report What started out as a lovely evening, although a bit windy, turned into a rout that was interrupted by a classic cricket season downpour!
Todd won the toss and chose to field, which with the way the evening panned out was a good decision. Merebury's batsmen were all fairly inexperienced, but our bowling was very good, despite the cross wind, with wickets falling steadily and after their 15 overs, Merebury finished on 50-5. Everybody had a bowl with Todd (2-8), Ollie C (1-0), Ben (1-4) and Will C (1-1) the wicket takers.
We were going to shake the batting order up, but the weather turned at the end of Merebury's innings, so the decision was made to send in the big hitters to finish the game quickly, It worked with Todd (14 n.o) and Ben (24 n.o) knocking the runs off in 4.2 overs without loss. Well done lads a brilliant start to the season.
My man of the match this week goes to Tommy Weeks, who kept wicket very competently having not really done it before.
