Match report A lovely evening ended in defeat for the Reds.
Batting first, Stalbridge started shakily and thats how the innings progressed. We lost our first wicket in the third over and they fell steadily throughout the innings until we finished up on 66-7 from our 16 overs. Ben (15), Todd (7) and Jack (12) who help to rebuild the innings to somewhere near a good total to defend, although we probably needed at least 10 more runs!
We started defending our total, competently both with our bowling and fielding and it looked as if it was going to be a tight game. Having got one of Blandford's openers we need to push on and get more wickets. but their second wicket partnership of 53 was how Blandford sealed the game. We did get their top scorer out but the damage was done and Blandford wrapped up the victory with 2 overs to spare. Ollie (1-8) and Jack (1-3) the only wicket takers.
Man of the Match goes to Jack Bruton for a valiant attempt to rebuild our innings and for taking a wicket.
Well done boys a good effort, but a few things to work on at training!
