Stalbridge Cricket Club Won by 8 wickets

Match report We are now officially being spoilt with the weather! A lovely evening led to Stalbridge cruising to another victory. William won the toss and elected to field. We got off to a great start with our openers, Marcus (3-12) and Matt C (1-21) taking 3 wickets in the first 4 overs. Then Mere had a fourth wicket stand of 45 steadied their ship until Joe (1-5) bowled their top scorer and a run out got what I thought was their danger man. The last 3 wickets put on 49 runs although Matt W (0-10) bowled a fantastic last over, only conceding 3 runs, meant Mere finished on 109-6 which I thought might be tough to chase down.
In reply, the guys needed to bat sensibly. William (30 n.o) pushed the ball around nicely to gain his fourth retirement of the summer and Joe (24 n.o) did exactly what was needed of him by batting through the innings and although James was bowled, Sam (12 n.o) came and saw the game to a close. Stalbridge finished on 111-1.
Well done lads a fantastic result.
