Stalbridge Cricket Club Lost By 12 runs

Match report Tight bowling and excellent ground fielding kept Broadstone at only 3 an over for the first 35 overs, but wickets in hand proved to be crucial as they were able to launch an attack in the last 15 to take them to 225 for 4 after their allotted overs.
Stalbridge started well...at around 3.5 an over with the experienced Deggsy leading the way.
After his demise the youngsters, Eddie and Ollie, and the not quite so young Recco, then showed everyone how a proper run chase should be conducted....some of the best cricket by a Stalbridge batting side for years!!!
Unfortunately they could not quite finish the job, two run outs proving costly, meaning all the remaining batsmen had to get in and continue at the rate, a difficult task...it just shows the importance of someone continuing on to the finish.
A very disappointing end to the day, as it was a game we had won! but good signs are there for the future.
