Match report A fine, but chilly, evening saw Stalbridge record another emphatic victory.
Fielding first, after winning the toss, we took an early wicket and then let their second wicket put on 72 runs, scoring steadily over 15 overs. Once the second wicket pairing were retired our bowling attack got amongst the wickets, Matt C (2-22), Luke (2-7), Sam (1-20) and a run out, keeping Mere down to 107-6 from 20 overs.
In reply, we also started steady until Luke (33n.o) got into his stride, when the 5th over went for 22 runs including a big 6 to bring up his retirement. We lost a couple of wickets, but a superb knock from Sam (25n.o) saw Stalbridge home with 7.5 overs to spare.
