Stalbridge Cricket Club Lost By 42 runs

Match report A 42 run defeat for the 2's vs high flying Compton House but a good performance with 6 under 15's in the side. Compton hit 194-7 with Fordy and Howie keeping it tight with the new nut but it was the introduction of spin which made the breakthrough. Golden arm Leggy (3-36) ripped one past Mike Harper and then debutant Will Coleman took two big wickets, one an absolute corker with his left arm offies as he finished with a very respectable 2-29. Matt Chant also bagged 2-29 at the death.
Again the loss of early wickets hampered the reply as we were reduced to 66-5 but a fine stand of 64 between Kev Forsey (25) and 15 year old Seb Carty (42) who batted with maturity way beyond his years got us back on track, however another flurry of wickets left us dismissed for 152. Marnhull next week, a big 40 pointer!
