Match report Stalbridge won the toss and elected to bat. Joshy (2) fell early with the score on 16 which brought Seb (27) to the crease who put on 69 with Jimmer. Wickets fell in the middle order before Dirky (42* off 48 balls with six 4s and one 6) put on a 1st team record 7th wicket partnership with Jimmer of 117 - the previous record being held by Ian Moore and Steve Forshaw (thanks Hayd for the stats update). Jimmer batted magnificently for an unbeaten 146* off 156 balls with twenty-four 4s and two sixes batting the entire 50 overs for 2 minutes shy of 3 hours - Jimmer has been on superb form with two big 100s and one 50 in his last 4 innings. Stalbridge closed their innings on 251-7. The Shroton opening pair put on 74 for the first wicket before Si (10-0-61-1) had one of the opening batsman caught and bowled. Leggy (9-0-58-1) picked up the other opening clean bowled after he tried sweeping. H (10-0-49-3) picked up 3 of the top 7 and DIkey chipped in with (7-2-24-1) bowling well in difficult wet conditions and Stu also contributing with (10-3-40-1). Shroton kept up with the run rate throughout and despite wickets falling without substantial partnerships being built they got to their total with 3 overs remaining. Looking back on the scorecard an excess of wides bowled by Stalbridge proved costly, however 8 points for a defeat should be taken into next week and the remaining fixtures. Next week the 1s are at home to Wimborne, 1pm start.
