Match report A day of positives for the 2nd XI - new faces, youth, and determined performance. Despite having only 6 players on Tuesday, the leadership team managed to make some great signings prior to transfer deadline day and fielded a full 11 vs Witchampton. Witchampton won the toss and elected to bat on a very hot May bank holiday weekend. Fordy and Tom immediately rattled the top order; 21-3 after 15 overs and 87-5 after 30. Matt, Sateesh, Julius, James and Ben then faced the middle order sloggers who put some runs on the board. Ben (U15) with 2 wickets, Matt, Julius and Sateesh with 1 each, Sateesh with a wicket on the first ball of his Stalbridge career. A tired Stalbridge then had a go with the bat after 45 overs in the heat. Colin and Jordan put on a great stand of 45. At this point Witchampton seemed very concerned. After a couple of wickets, Fordy joined the party and top scored with 26. The 2nds will go from strength to strength this season and have a laugh along the way. Onto Blandford .... we go again.
