Match report The 2s go marching on.

On the 12th of May 2018, Blandford 1sts hosted Stalbridge 2’s for the first away day of the 2’s season.

Skipper won the toss and elected to bowl. This decision was looking good after 3 wickets fell in quick succession. Wagget and Ford opening the session. Unfortunately Waggetts attempted caught & bowled has left his hand in a very bruised state.

The 2’s are struggling to field a full strength side at the moment despite new additions to the squad. This left the burden on the U15’s to attack a batsmen who was well and truly in. Ben Pattle bowled a great spell of 5 overs and picked up the MOTM award for his efforts (5-1-12) Julius finally getting the key batsmen out (caught at long on by TW). Blandford finished 272-4.

Stalbridge then had a go with the bat. Eddie (2) and Float opened up. After nudging a few around the ground Eddie was beaten by a straight one. This left Float (17) and Fordy (37) to hold the fort. A cracking partnership of over 53 runs between them. Unfortunately the tail struggled to put any runs in the board. 76 all out.

In a tough division with limited players we had a go !!! The side slowly builds for the short, medium and long term with new faces, youth element, injuries to return and lads back from Uni.
