Kingston Lacy v Stalbridge Cricket Club 2nd XI on Sat 09 Jun 2018 at 1.30pm
Stalbridge Cricket Club Lost By 56 Runs

Match report What a day... on Friday night the 2s had 8 players at one point. A common theme so far this season. Always a challenge to pull together 11 at the moment.

The away fixture at Kingston Lacy was a relegation battle. KL had lost 4 and won 1 prior to the game.

Anyway, the Bridge ended up with 10 players. RB and Toby stepped up to the plate.

Incredible bowling figures from Fordy left their openers nudging to see him out. Then Wiz, Eddie, Matt and Float had a go. One of their lads scored a hundred (dropped on 2). However they had a long tail and we rattled through the last few and they ended on 236 for 9

Then the Bridge has a bat. A great innings from Goose (64) and Fordy (48) built some momentum. On a day when KL had done their research and didn’t reckon we would score over 100 (based on history) we proved them wrong. A great knock from Toby (21) in a couple of overs really impressed everyone at the ground.

8 points for the Bridge and on another day a win. Such fine margins but a really impressive performance to build on...
