Match report The 2's second game of the season was a local trip away to Stur&Hinton. A game full of bad luck followed, as the 2's were somewhat dismantled both in the field and then with the bat. Things got off to an alright start with the Sturminster openers playing and missing several times in the opening overs...this is where the positives pretty much ended. The skipper (0-45) pulled up injured in his third over, a number of chances were missed and Archie Harris (1-43) had the Stur opener bowled only for the bails to stay on. Nonetheless, the lads heads did not drop and they kept on going all the way through to the end. A deserved point was the reward when Matt Williams (1-46) claimed the second wicket. Given we had 8 on Thursday and looked like having to scratch, we are really 21 points up on where we could have been.
With the bat, the positives were Toby Jeans (13) again showing maturity at the crease and providing hopeful signs for the future.
Next week we go again, with some more experienced heads, at home, and seek out that first win!
