Match report In what has become a theme of the back half of the season, rain disrupted and ultimately ended a promising game for the Dev XI. Having elected to bowl, Stalbridge struggled to find consistency, with Blandford playing an aggressive brand of cricket. A crucial breakthrough, however, from Sam Forster (2-28) set the mood for the rest of the innings, as Harry Forshaw (1-14) continued to put the pressure on. With the weather beginning to turn and ominous signs in the distance, the openers returned to try and contain Blandford as much as possible and keep the score low, should there have been a Duckworth-Lewis affected chase. The plan worked, with the captain (1-28) and Rupert Elston (1-29) both bowling tight spells and gaining another vital point for wickets before the deluge arrived. The rain then set in for the afternoon, resulting in an unfortunate abandonment at 5pm.

The Dev XI have a week off now, in which they will play a friendly fixture and, hopefully, get a full game in.
