Match report A bit of a battering for the Devs in this one. Despite a relatively steady start, having been inserted, a flurry of wickets took the side from 18/1 to 26/7 in a matter of overs. Dismissals seemed to take every form, as Stalbridge attempted to complete the set. R. Elston getting caught ant bowled, before D. Coleman and L. Hedditch fell LBW in the same over. There was then a runout to account for S. Foster, and then the skipper was out backing up at the non-strikers off a deflection from the bowlers boot. A more conventional series of flying stumps and a superb catch accounted for the rest and left A. Dike (18*) stranded miles short of a certain fifty.

A wicket off the second ball and some tight bowling created some pressure as Witchampton crawled their way to 20/1 at the ten. Sadly, the lack of wickets would always prove vital defended such a low score, and a few boundaries and singles soon took the game away. The crowd were at least treated to R. Brown charging up the hill, and L. Hedditch bowling a maiden to a field of three slips and a gully.
