Match report Stalbridge CC 1st XI lost by 5 wickets to Poole Town CC 1st XI. Poole Town won the toss and elected to bowl. Stu was given out LBW early on and Jimmer soon followed clean bowled by the impressive Poole Town opening bowler down the hill. Lewis batted well and made 30 from number 3, Jon made 21 and Leggy with another impressive knock of 17. Stalbridge were bowled out in the 40th over for 115. The rain began to fall during the interval but the 2nd innings managed to start on time. The chase was interrupted on several occasions due to the weather meaning Poole had adjusted total of 103 to chase in 40 overs. Poole Town chased down there revised score with a small wobble after an impressive opening spell from Steve (8-2-13-1) and equally impressive spell from Dikey in difficult conditions (7-4-7-3), Leggy also picked up a wicket (8-0-38-1). 3 points and a dissapoitning day but we go again next week into the halfway point of the season with an away game at Sherborne. Away from the game, Goose claimed to have seen a rat in the pavilion, quoting Steve Forshaw in reply to Goose "shame you didn't see the shin high full toss you got out to". Smiley has done some investigation will be keeping us posted on his findings, he has however gave our new club addition the name Roland! 🐭
