Match report
Martinstwon won the toss and elected to bat. Steve (1-52) picked up an early wicket after another good catch by George, this time at gully. Stu (1-36) bowled their number 3 shorlty after and Matinstown were 25-2. Their innings was steadied with a partnership of 56 between their opener and number 4 batsman before H (2-36) got the breakthrough bowling their opening batsman for 37 and soon after removing their number 4 with the scorecard going from 77-2 to 83-4. The next pair put on 112 with their number 5 top scoring with 80 off 55 balls and young number 6 batting really well for a composrd 37 off 72. At second drinks Martinstwon were in a good position at 194-4, however Leggy bowled magnificently to get 2 wickets in the 35th and going on to pick up his first 5 for in the 1s, finishing with brilliant figures of 5-24 showing his usual great form before playing for Dorset Leopards this Thursday (well done Leggy on your call up). Martnstown's innings finsihed when Jonny took a superb stumping off Si (1-19). The reply got off to a bad start with Stu (0) going second ball of the innings gloving a ball down the leg side, Josh (9) went soon after LBW which brought George to the crease who made 59, hitting six 4s and two maximums off the 74 balls he faced. He and Jimmer (29) had good partnership of 74 before wickets fell in the middle order with the scorecard going from 106-3 to 130-7. Stalbridge never recovered depsite some late resistance from Jon (14*) and Leggy (15). Defeat left Stalbridge taking 8 points from the game, next week the 1s are at home to Shroton, 1pm start time.
