Match report Stalbridge won the toss & elected to field. The Broadstone opening pair put on 62 before Forsh (1-37) got the breakthrough after a good catch by Herb at square leg. Their number 3 made 14 and when he was caught behind by Jon off the bowling of Leggy (2-44) Broadstone were 97-2 after 22. 2 further wickets fell before 2nd drinks at 34 with Si (1-39) striking in the 25th and Leggy having their opener caught by H at extra cover for 64, the score after 34 overs was 148-4. Stalbridge picked up a further wicket with the score on 207 when their number 6 was caught well by Forsh at long on off the bowling of Stu (1-80). Broadstone picked up some late boundaries and finished their innings on 274-5. Stu (3) fell in the 3rd over when he was caught low at mid wicket, Josh (19) and George (10) put on 30 for the second wicket and the score at this stage was 40-2 off 11. Jimmer (31) and Andy (23) put on 58 for the highest Stalbrige partnership of the innings, Jimmer hitting four 4s and Andy three plus 1 maximum. Si hit 32 off 22 balls top scoring for Stalbridge and Leggy made 18 off 10 to help push Stalbridge past 190 and a 4th batting point, the Stalbridge innings ended on 196-9 off 50 overs. 6 points taken in defeat leave Stalbridge 3rd from bottom, 20 points ahead of Swanage & Sherborne. Next week the 1s are at home (1pm start time) to Dorchester which is the halfway point of the season.
