Match report Stalbridge won the toss & elected to bowl. Stu struck in his 1st and 3rd over as Swanage were reduced to 12-2 after 3 overs. Wickets fell at regular intervals as Steve (10-3-21-4) & Stu (10-1-50-4) bowled their spells straight through and Swanage were 72-8 after 20 overs. Stu & Steve were both backed up in the field by an excellent one handed catch from Josh at backward point, 4 catches by Si in the slips and 2 catches by Jon behind the stumps. Leggy (4.3-1-6-1) & Si (4-2-11-1) chipped in with a wicket each to wrap up the Swanage innings with 89 being scored. Stalbridge lost Stu (2) in the 1st over and Jimmer (9) in the 6th after he struck a couple 4s, at this point Stalbridge were 23-2. Seb and George took the score to 80-2 when tea was taken at 4pm with rain threatening. Whilst there were a few showers during the tea interval play resumed shortly after 4:30pm, Seb fell for 27 off 49 balls with four 4s when he was adjudjed LBW with the score on 89, Josh hit his second ball for 4 to win the game. George batted superbly in the chase ending on 36 not out off 55 balls with seven 4s putting on a match winning partnership of 66 with Seb. Stalbridge take 19 points for the victory and their 5th win of the season. Next week the 1s are at home (1pm start time) to Poole Town who are still in the title hunt after beating Sherborne.
