Match report
Stalbridge won the toss and elected to bat.
After a watchful few overs at the start of the innings Bushy scored three 4s in the 4th over and then 17 runs were taken from the 6th taking the score to 41-0. Runs continued to be scored at a good rate and the 100 partnership was brought up during the 11th over. Stu was quick to pass 50 and went on to make 80 off 61 balls that included fourteen 4s and 1 maximum before being out LBW in the 19th over with the score on 144. That brought George to the middle who continued to score at a good rate, he and Bushy added 86 for the 2nd wicket, George making 51 off 42 with seven 4s. Bushy continued but fell just short of a 100 making 95 off 89 with fourteen 4s. Jimmer made 30* at a run a ball and Andy hit a quick fire 19* off 12 to take the Stalbridge total to 304-4 after 40 overs.
Stu (4-2-15-2) took wickets in his 1st and 2nd overs to leave Shillignstone 21-2 after 4 overs. The Shillingstone number 3 hit a quick 22 with some powerful shots before being bowled by Fordy who reeled off 8 overs on the bounce in the searing heat to finish with decent figures of 8-0-41-1. Forsh (6-0-37-2) bowled their number 4 batsman and had the number 5 caught at gully by Jimmer. The 7th wicket partnership for Shillingstone added 47, this was broken by bradders (5-0-28-2). H (1-0-5-1) chipped in with a wicket towards the end & wiz (3.5-0-17-2) finished it off picking up the final wicket of the Shillingstone captain who top scored with 49, Shillingstone all out for 154.
Stalbridge picked up their second consecutive win and sit joint top with Marnhull of division 2 group group b after 2 rounds of fixtures.
Next week the 1s are home to Weymouth, 1.30pm start time.
