Match report Witchampton won the toss and elected to bat, but were met with an extremely disciplined bowling and fielding performance. Although it took until the 9th over to make the breakthrough, only 10 runs had been scored, with no easy runs on offer from Stu and Steve. The number 3 didn't last long either, and the score was only 32-2 after 20 overs. Ben Pattle struck next, clean bowling the dangerous-looking Bowles for 31 as he looked to accelerate the scoring, and again finished with tidy figures of 1-17 from 7 overs. Wickets began to fall as Witchampton tried to get to a defendable total, with H claiming 4 wickets at the back end of the innings, backed up by some good catching - Steve rolled back the years to take an excellent running catch over his shoulder. All the bowlers contributed, either by picking up wickets or keeping the scoring rate to a minimum. It was frustrating that we were unable to claim the last wicket, but we would certainly have settled for their final total of 126.

Stu and Colin put on 27 for the first wicket before Stu was bowled for 10, but there were no further alarms as Colin and George knocked off the majority of the target between them, punishing the loose ball to great effect. Witchampton used 8 bowlers in their attempts to take further wickets, but with little effect. Unfortunately Colin fell LBW for an excellent 35 with the score on 100, but Jimmer (14*) and George (56*) knocked off the remaining runs comfortably. George batted with great maturity and skill, with his runs coming off 60 balls.
