Match report A big win to turn around a bad run for the Development XI on a drizzly, windy and cold Saturday that followed the hottest day of the year (!).

Having won the toss and elected to bat, things got off to a quick start, despite the loss of C. Mckinnon (11) to a good spell from a Cheselbourne opener. C. Moore (58) and R. Payne (36) then put on a fabulous stand of 89 for the second wicket, carrying the Bridge past the midway point before Rob fell to a well aimed yorker, leaving the side 112/2. A somewhat classic middle-order collapse then followed, featuring two run-outs as Stalbridge slumped to 128/5. J. Guthrie (22) and the tail eked out most of the final ten over, however, to post a respectable 173.

Some wonderful tight opening bowling - particularly threatening from H. Lewis (4-1-12-0) - held Cheselbourne to just 13 runs when play was halted by rain in the eighth over. When the game was resumed, O. Moore began his spell from the far end, getting great shape with the hill and varying his pace well, and was rewarded with 4 wickets as the Cheselbourne middle order collapsed. The wickets continued to come with S. Foster (5-0-17-3) cleaning up at the other end, while J. Stuart (6-0-13-0) bowled tight lines and frustrated any possible scoring.
